Expanding Norman Showcase Academy

By Thomas Masich
Norman Showcase Academy (NSA) is an indoor athletic complex in St. Pauls, North Carolina that provides training for youth baseball teams. The mission statement of the organization is “helping youth reach their highest potential through athletics.” NCGrowth partnered with NSA’s owner, Starsky Norman, to help organize the company’s financial recordkeeping, launch the company’s website, identify opportunities for additional revenue, and create models for future growth.
NCGrowth and NSA explored many possible ways to utilize the NSA space including adding Zumba and personal training classes during the day. This would allow NSA to create more revenue without interfering with the existing baseball training, while also diversifying its offerings to the St. Pauls community. NCGrowth created a model of NSA’s business, which incorporated these additional opportunities. These projections will allow NSA to visualize how adding additional programs will impact both revenues and expenses. This greater visibility into the details of NSA’s business will help them create sustainable growth and increase profits.
Another part of this project was to help launch NSA’s website. This will benefit the organization in multiple ways, particularly by allowing it to better interact with its customers and allowing NSA to accept electronic bill payment. The website will encourage more engagement amongst the parents of current players and give prospective clients an opportunity to learn more about NSA.
