The Kenan Institute has developed a new county-level incentives resource page

Economic development incentives are inducements offered by a jurisdiction to persuade a business to remain, expand or move to that place. In North Carolina, state law authorizes municipal and county governments to use incentives for economic development purposes. Research and reports for the Kenan Institute in collaboration with UNC Department of City and Regional Planning has been compiled into a resource page on the NC Growth website. Resources include data on economic incentive deals in NC and Eastern North Carolina, a report on the step by step experience of a small NC county, an example of an incentives policy contract, as well asĀ  case studies in Chatham, Durham and Warren counties.
