Over the course of 2016, NCGrowth partnered with the City of Clinton to conduct surveys and interviews with businesses in the City’s key industries. These outreach efforts were designed to assess current business conditions and identify ways the City can better support its existing businesses.
The NCGrowth team included UNC School of Government Professor Jonathan Morgan, NCGrowth Analyst Ellis Johnson, NCGrowth Associate Director LaChaun Banks, NCGrowth Program Coordinator Carolyn Fryberger, and Kenan Institute Research Manager Ashley Brown.
The final report was presented to a group of City stakeholders in December and included recommendations on creating a formalized business retention and expansion effort based on the feedback gathered by the NCGrowth team and analysis of overall demographic and economic trends.
