Hysucat Boats is a custom boat manufacturer that was established in 2015 out of Bath, NC. Through their patented hydrofoil catamaran design, their boats are lighter resulting in better fuel efficiency, speed, and maneuverability. This design is incorporated in the three styles offered: the traditional center console boat, rigid inflatable boat (RIBs), and the water transport boat.
Hysucat engaged the help of NCGrowth and the Small Business and Technology Development Center at East Carolina University to conduct industry and market research on how to best target new potential customers. The work included exploring expansion into new markets for Hyscuat due to the added benefits of their RIB line.
This project sought to target new markets in which industry trends are projecting as areas for future growth. Extensive research was conducted into the new markets and how to best attract those customers. Research was also conducted into the feasibility of entering into contracts with various entities and the effects they could have overall. From the research and analysis of the project, NCGrowth was able to provide Hysucat with the necessary information needed for new market penetration.
