A Pathway to Independence is a new non-profit founded by Reverend Vonner Horton of New Oxley Hill Baptist Church in Merry Hill. With a mission to assist underserved women in Bertie County and surrounding Tier 1 counties, API is opening its doors with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Sunday, May 25th from 3-5pm at 128 Granville Street, Windsor. API will offer programming focused on interpersonal skill development, job readiness and placement, financial counseling, strategies for healthy living, parent training and support services, transitional housing, and youth mentoring.
