Joining the team in 2018, Kara manages several NCGrowth and SmartUp initiatives, including direct project work with businesses in the Triad area. Prior to joining NCGrowth, Kara worked as the Director of Operations and Business Development for a local toxicology lab. This role gave her a unique perspective on project management, direct client interface, and strategic planning.
Kara received her Bachelor of Science degree from Duke University in 2013, though her interest in economic development grew later, while working on a recovery project post-Hurricane Matthew.
Kara loves seeing tangible change over time in the communities NCGrowth serves, and feels fortunate to contribute to the growth of her home state—North Carolina.
