LaChaun BanksAssociate Director
LaChaun Banks has nine years of experience in human resources, customer relations and business operations. She earned a BA in International Studies from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, with a concentration in global economics, trade, and development. As a Phillips Ambassador scholar at UNC, LaChaun studied in Hong Kong at the Chinese University where she gained knowledge on Asian business and management and Chinese government and politics. In a previous role as a commercialization manager, LaChaun helped to create business plans for advanced technologies for a local aerospace company. She is also certified by the National Industrial Security Program as a Facility Security Officer, and was responsible for obtaining personnel government security clearances as well as facility security clearances. As Associate Director for NCGrowth, LaChaun leads initiatives supporting rural community development, as well as local start-up and business support. LaChaun will receive her MBA from Kenan-Flagler Business School’s Executive MBA program in October 2017.
